Sandra Bullock’s new Netflix feature, The Unforgivable, has been another success following Bird Box, and that is just one reason the actress is giving praise to the streamer. “They’re good to artists. They’re good to filmmakers. If it wasn’t for Netflix, a lot of people wouldn’t be working. Their stories wouldn’t be told. Who would think that me, as a woman, would still be working at this point? I would have been out in the cow pasture. It’s true.” she tells THR.
Speaking of the reach Netflix allowed Squid Game; she says, “That’s one of the bigger ones, but I’ve seen more work from other countries told by other nationalities, and we never would have had that 10 years ago, ever. It brings people together in a way that really, you know, we’re getting more and more divided and yet, we have the streamers that are able to blend our stories together and go, look, same story, just different.”
The current story that might not have been told on the big screen is the one told in The Unforgivable, starring Sandra Bullock, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Richard Thomas, Linda Emond, Aisling Franciosi, Rob Morgan, and Viola Davis. The synopsis reads, “Released from prison into a society that won’t forgive her, a woman convicted of murder searches for the little sister she was forced to leave behind.” The feature was the most-streamed film on Netflix’s charts for English-language films during its first week of release, with 85.86 million hours viewed.
