Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor have descended into Fortnite with the newly available “Gods of Thunder Pack”. This isn’t the first time Marvel’s Thor has made his way to Fortnite, as the comic version of Thor was released in 2020 as part of the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass. Other Marvel characters have also been added to Fortnite over the past couple of years, with the latest being Fortnite and Marvel’s Zero War crossover, which features fan-favorites like Spider-Man and the Avengers.
Over 40 Marvel skins have been released in Fortnite over the years, though many are no longer available for players to purchase, and it doesn’t look like Epic Games and Disney are planning to slow down the collaborations anytime soon. Fortnite‘s continued popularity makes it a good place for Disney to promote the latest movies and shows, or bring back some classic and beloved characters. The collaborations aren’t limited to Marvel, as Fortnite has also introduced skins and cosmetics from other Disney IPs such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones as part of Fortnite’s Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass Rewards.
Fortnite developer Epic Games recently published a new blog post detailing the new Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor skins, as well as items included in the “Gods of Thunder Pack”. The Thor Odinson and Mighty Thor Fortnite skins are inspired by the armor and appearances of the new Thor: Love and Thunder Marvel film, with Thor Odinson wielding Stormbreaker and Mighty Thor commanding Mjolnir. Apart from the two skins, the “Gods of Thunder Pack” also comes with two Back Bling capes, two pickaxes, two gliders, an emote, and a loading screen.
Epic Games isn’t the only company Disney and Marvel are working with to help promote Thor: Love and Thunder. Microsoft is also giving away an official Thor: Love & Thunder Xbox Series X, which looks like Mighty Thor’s Mjolnir in the movie – complete with a handle and strap. However, players who want to get their hands on Fortnite’s “Gods of Thunder Pack” won’t be able to access it as easily. Instead, they will have to spend a steep 2,500 V-bucks to unlock it, and unfortunately, there is currently no way to get each of the items in the pack separately.
Despite this, the Fortnite “Gods of Thunder Pack” could be worth the high price tag, especially for those who enjoy the God of Thunder. While it is likely other Marvel characters will take the stage in future months, the chance to dress a character up as Mighty Thor or Thor Odinson in Fortnite using the new skins could be a great way to spice up battles for the foreseeable future.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC.
