20th Century Studios unveils The Bob’s Burgers Movie poster and images, teasing the Belcher family’s long-awaited theatrical debut. The story for the film sees Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene and Louise gearing up for a successful summer, only for a ruptured water main to create a large sinkhole blocking the entrance to the titular restaurant. As Bob and Linda try to keep the business afloat, the Belcher kids embark on a musical adventure to solve a mystery that could save their family business and get their summers back on track.
Series creator Loren Bouchard began working on The Bob’s Burgers Movie with 20th Century Fox in late 2017, but amidst work on the hit Fox animated series and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, production would take a while to finally get off the ground. Original show cast H. Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, John Roberts, Eugene Mirman, Larry Murphy, Zach Galifianakis and David Wain are all returning for the film, having recorded their dialogue remotely in 2020. With Disney having acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019 and readjusting the release based on the pandemic, The Bob’s Burgers Movie has suffered multiple delays but is now gearing up for a May theatrical premiere.
On the heels of the first trailer arriving for the film, 20th Century Studios has released the first Bob’s Burgers Movie poster and images. The key art and photos tease the Belchers’ theatrical debut as their summer is ruined by a sinkhole blocking the entrance to the restaurant. Check out the exciting poster and images below:
The first Bob’s Burgers Movie poster and images are sure to further build anticipation for the Belcher family’s theatrical debut for fans of the hit series. The images also give some insight into the mystery nature of the movie’s plot, with Tina, Louise and Gene preparing to rappel down into the enormous sinkhole blocking the entrance to their restaurant and investigating a trailer park for a currently unknown reason. Eagle-eyed fans may be able to spot in Louise’s arms her iconic Kupi Kochi nightlight as she prepares to venture down into the plot-driving sinkhole.
The Bob’s Burgers Movie trailer also showed that the film would see the Kupi Kochi begin speaking again and would come to life alongside the melted Kupi Kochi from the celebrated season 7 premiere, “Flu-ouise.” With over four years of development under its belt, audience anticipation for the Belchers’ theatrical debut is fairly high, namely as it marks the second of Fox’s animation roster to get a film adaptation after the acclaimed Simpsons Movie. Only time will tell if the film proves to be worth the wait when The Bob’s Burgers Movie hits theaters on May 27.
