A fan artist has imagined what Felicity Jones’ Black Cat would look like if she returned in a potential resurrection of the scrapped sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Speculations about a third Amazing Spider-Man movie have been resurrected after Andrew Garfield reprised the role of Peter Parker in a special appearance in the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe film and box office smash Spider-Man: No Way Home. The multiversal antics of that film allowed him to play the role he originally portrayed in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire.
The character of Felicia Hardy was played by Felicity Jones in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which came out in 2014. She has a small role in the film as the new assistant to Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) after the death of his father. In the comics, the character later becomes Black Cat, a thief who is essentially Marvel’s answer to DC’s Catwoman. Although she does not take on the mantle of Black Cat in the film, she likely would have gone on to do so in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, which never came to be.
On Instagram, digital artist Rahal Nejraoui shared a design inspired by the potential for an Amazing Spider-Man 3. The artist makes works based on a variety of fandoms including The Walking Dead, John Wick, and The Matrix, but the bulk of their recent work has been Spider-Man related. This latest piece imagines what Black Cat might look like if she returned in a modern-day sequel and assumed her true super identity. Check out the artwork below:

There has not yet been word that any sort of project is actually in development. However, Andrew Garfield has stated that he would like to return as Peter Parker in future Spider-Man films. Although this would likely mean he would rejoin Tom Holland’s Peter on his quest in the upcoming new trilogy of MCU Spider-Man films, the fan demand for a resurrected Amazing Spider-Man 3 might create a Snyder Cut-esque situation and send a new movie into production.
The massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home certainly has proven that the Spider-Man multiverse still has legs. While it seems unlikely that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 would ever get made, it’s probably even more unlikely that Felicity Jones would return if it did. After appearing in Spider-Man, she went on to even greater success, starring in the Star Wars spinoff Rogue One and being nominated for an Oscar in 2015 for The Theory of Everything, so there is a strong chance she would be too busy to come back.
